“DECISIONS TODAY CHANGE TOMORROWS!”
Known as the “step-child,” Nyle was born on the fourth stair of our family's home in Petaluma, CA. That concept stuck with him as he developed an eye for the alternative/contrarian view on hobbies, life, culture, design, strategy, and ultimately business.
Although he was raised by a CFP and consistently excelled in applied math/writing, Nyle never believed he was destined for finance. His right-brain creative side dominated his lifestyle. It wasn't until after working two years of the gloomy graveyard shift during college that he realized, the life of a starving artist was not for him. He did what any bold creative would do, put on a tie and sold out! *joking*
Starting with Securities America, he worked his way from pushing papers to recording meeting minutes in boardrooms, from editing pitch-decks to creating them, from recording minutes to leading the investment committee meetings, from indexing leads to changing people's lives, he finally recognized the art in finance is as important as the math and adapted investing as his passion. He then moved to LPL Financial and ultimately joined his father in creating Up Capital Management.
As an all-in or not-at-all kind of guy, Nyle worked his way to become an Investment Advisor and Fiduciary to over 25 corporate retirement plans before age 30. These plans represent over 3,000 participants and ~$90MM in assets.
He couldn't stop there; people needed all the hacks he learned to achieve success at a faster rate. Nyle needed an outlet to connect his inner-creative to his love of investing. It was in that transition of June 2016 when Financial Time Traveler was born. He designed and engineered everything, from the logo all the way down to the music used for the podcast.
With a video and audio podcast and accompanying blog, Financial Time Traveler has accumulated ~30,000+ social media followers and over 150,000 minutes watched on YouTube alone in less than a year.
In 2019, his goal is to merge the worlds of low-cost algorithm allocations with relationship-based investment guidance and education.
